Educate-WI is hiring two graduate-level instructors to begin teaching in September 2021!
One instructor is needed in the Project Teaching Program and the other instructor is needed in the 10 Sped Program. See instructor qualifications for each program under the Job Requirements section below.
About Educate-WI...
Educate-WI offers certification programs for aspiring teachers and administrators in shortage areas identified by Wisconsin DPI. Educate-WI partners with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota to offer accredited, graduate-level coursework to those who already hold at least a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Educate-WI provides the following certification programs:
10 Sped - Cross categorical and early childhood special education certification program
Project Teaching - General education certification in various shortage areas (see website)
WiscAd - Administrator certification program for all five administrative areas
EdNova - Statutory stipulation removal program
Requirements:
10 Sped Program Instructor (hiring one position):
- Must hold a WI teaching license in special education. Cross-categorical special education, EBD, LD, ID, and/or early childhood special education preferred.
- Must have at least three years of teaching experience.
- Must have a Master's Degree or higher (master's degree in reading or Reading Specialist preferred).
- Director of Special Education experience preferred.
Project Teaching Program Instructor (hiring one position):
- Must hold a WI teaching license in any of the following subject areas: science, social studies, music, ELA, agriculture, art, business education, ESL, math, PE, Spanish, FACE, French, health, marketing education, or technology education.
- Must have at least three years of teaching experience.
- Must have a master's degree or higher.
- Principal experience preferred.
Schedule:
All of our faculty positions are part-time. Currently, all of our instructors work full-time as teachers or administrators while teaching part-time for Educate-WI. The schedule for the part-time Educate-WI faculty positions are:
- 16 week semester includes both face-to-face and online instruction.
- Face-to-face instruction occurs during three weekends each semester.
- Face-to-face sessions are held in Stevens Point on Fridays from 6:00 - 9:30 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
- Instructors are required to teach three semesters per year for a total of nine face-to-face weekends per calendar year.
- A series of onboarding sessions will occur during the summer to ensure instructors are prepared to teach in September.
Instructor Role Requirements:
- Teach 9 weekends per calendar year.
- Instructors teach from the provided program curriculum.
- Instructors facilitate and engage in online discussions weekly throughout the semester. This usually means checking the discussion board daily to post the weekly discussion prompt and engage with students on the discussion board.
- Instructors must evaluate student's written work. This varies depending on the number of students and the length of papers.
- Participate in faculty meetings as needed.
- Respond to student and office inquiries within 48 hours.

- Is always learning, growing, and being stretched
- Is comfortable using PowerPoint and discussion board to facilitate an engaging classroom experience - in both face-to-face and online platforms

- Is a naturally gifted communicator
- Enjoys creative problem solving
- Is willing to push the envelope on your own skills
